Types of triangular bandage fold: There are four types of triangular bandage folds. These are –

1. No folded.
2. Folded once.
3. Folded twice, broad fold bandage.
4. Folded thrice narrow fold bandage.

The forms of triangular bandage with their uses
1. Open bandage:
Uses:
- Large arm sling
- Keeping dressing in place on scalp on scalp, chest, abdomen, shoulder, elbow, hand, hip, knee or foot.
- Fanning.

2. Broad fold: It is made by bringing the apex of the bandage down to the base and then folding it again.
Uses:
- Small arm sling
- Immobilizing certain fractures where splints cannot be used.
- Tying lower limbs together when one is fractured and a splint is not used.
3. Narrow fold: It is made by folding the broad fold once to reduce its width by half.
Uses:
- Keeping dressing in place.
- Applying pressure to wounds to stop bleeding.
- Keeping splints in position.
- Padding splints.
