Allergy in infant:
Food allergy is observed frequently among infants receiving mammalian milk. Breast milk is hypoallergenic. A child born in a family where one or both parents are allergic to some foods is likely to show allergic reaction to the same foods. The foods allergic to some infants are cow’s milk, eggs, tomatoes, legumes, strawberries, wheat beef, potato, fish, pork and corn.
Wheat and corn may be replaced by rice and oats. Cow’s milk should be replaced by fortified soybean milk protein-rich foods such as processed soyabean flour should be used in place of eggs, and meat. The infant should receive a supplement of vitamins and essential minerals to meet the daily requirements of these nutrients.
